REIKI PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Professional Development through Reiki Centers of America currently includes two components. For any Reiki student of 2nd degree or higher, our Member Centers offer a six-month “Certified Reiki Practitioner” Training Program, which is designed to help Reiki practitioners open their own Reiki Center and build a thriving practice that can support them. They also receive extensive training on techniques and best practices that have proven to be the most therapeutically effective and comfortable for clients. The certificate for this program is backed by Reiki Centers of America. Select Member Centers run by Reiki masters also offer a 2-year Master Apprenticeship program for those students who feel called to become Reiki Master-Instructors. Candidates must be practicing Reiki for a minimum of four years before training in a two-year Master apprenticeship. Our curriculum follows the teachings of Hawayo Takata and the discipline of Usui Shiki Ryoyo.
Through our Member Reiki Centers we provide opportunities for students of Reiki and for the public to have ongoing experience and exposure to the system of Usui Shiki Ryoho. Member Centers host Reiki Circles for students to practice with each other, and Reiki Clinics for members of the public to receive Reiki treatments from students. Insome communities we host Reiki Shares, which are open to attendance by any students of Reiki from the larger communities. Additionally, our member Reiki Centers provide a “Reiki Support” network, generally on Facebook, for 2nd Degree Reiki students to reach out for Reiki treatments from other students for themselves and their immediate family members at times of illness or other crisis events.
REIKI CENTER NETWORK
Reiki CEnters of America provides technical and business development to active Member Centers and newly forming Reiki Centers. Our technical assistance includes a basic business 101 class, ongoing support services, forms and paperwork assistance, and essential resource information, including state-by-state information about licensing requirements, accreditation bodies, and insurance companies that cover Reiki practitioners. We use our experience running full-time Reiki offices to help promote the success of newly-formed Reiki centers. We also provide coaching and mentorship to new Masters.
RCA has an extensive collection of materials about the history, philosophy, precepts, and practice of Reiki. Our archive library hosts rare books, magazine articles, interviews, and audio and video files of prominent Reiki Masters who studied Usui Shiki Rhoyo under Hawayo Takata or Takata-trained masters. We believe in preserving the original teachings and spirit of the spiritual method of Reiki, even as the practice continues to grow and develop as used by practitioners around the world.
